Jefferson Regional Medical Center Increases Cardiac Cath Procedures

Can a community newsletter really 'move the needle'? Well … yes! Jefferson had spent years upgrading its cardiology program. Now it was time to share the story with the community and referring physicians including primary care, ER and internal medicine doctors, as well as pulmonologists. The essence of the message was the program's remarkable patient outcomes—among the best in the state.

Mid-Missouri Hospital Finds its Identity
Surveys showed that a growing community hospital had a virtual identity crisis. The established population remembered the hospital as the 'band aid station' of nearly 40 years ago. Newbies in the community weren't quite sure of the services offered and had plenty of healthcare options. Through the proactive efforts of the Board and senior management, the hospital had grown dramatically by recruiting skilled physicians, acquiring the latest technologies, and expanding the facility and overall capabilities. A great story needed to be told.

Solutions

  • Campus-Wide Branding including the hospital, outpatient clinics and retail pharmacies
  • A Style Guide and Brand Standards Guide was produced to direct the look, feel and reflect the hospital's culture of caring.
  • The advertising campaign included print, billboards, television and radio.
  • Public relations featured an expanded community newsletter as well as sharing the story with the local media.

Results

  • Just two years later this facility is the 'hospital of choice' in the communities it serves.
  • The retail pharmacies and outpatient clinics have realized a steady growth in business.
  • Achieved story placements in local newspapers, radio and television.
  • Branding has achieved a look of continuity while complementing the hospital's image and awareness.
